Jordyn and Sean had one of my absolute favorite winter weddings at The Joinery in Chicago. There are SO many moments from this wedding day that I just love, from the first look in The Joinery’s speakeasy, to our time in the snow before the ceremony and finally dancing the night away there’s so much to love.
Getting Ready
Jordyn and Sean spent their mornings with their wedding parties getting ready for their day. Jordyn did a first look with her wedding party and it was THE best. I LOVE a first look with the wedding party, they always bring SO much hype and excitement going into the rest of the day ! They all had a glass (or two) of champagne and then it was off to The Joinery to meet up with Sean and his half of the party. Sean and his friends all had a shot of bourbon while they were getting ready before heading off to meet Jordyn.
First Look
We had Jordyn and Sean’s first look at The Joinery’s speakeasy section. When Sean first saw Jordyn he had THE biggest smile on his face ! First looks are such a fun time on a wedding day for couples because it's really the only time throughout the day that they get alone outside of couples' portraits. After some portraits, the two read notes they wrote to one another and there was not a dry eye between the three of us. Jordyn and Sean are SO sweet, and I loved being able to document this special moment for them on their wedding day. It was almost time to head to the ceremony space so we decided to get a few more photos outside in the snow before heading over to get that true winter wedding feel.
Ceremony
Before the ceremony started we got some portraits of Jordyn and Sean as well as some with their wedding party. The Joinery is a building with a ton of history to it, even being a rumored mob space hangout. Nowadays it is the perfect rustic venue for any type of event and looked absolutely gorgeous for Jordyn and Sean’s winter wedding. After the ceremony, it was time for a few more portraits before the reception.
Reception
For their reception, Jordyn and Sean in true Chicago fashion opted for deep dish pizza for their reception which I am all about. The Joinery’s space easily converts to a wide-open dance floor and reception space which meant that after some toasts and a little bit of food it was time to party ! After the first dance and parent dances and a bit of mingling Jordyn, Sean and I snuck away to get a little alone time and headed out into the street for some photos in the snow. I love fresh snowfall for a winter wedding as it makes everything feel just a little more special. After we got the photos we wanted it was time to head back inside so they could dance the night away as newlyweds. Congratulations to Jordyn and Sean ! These two are some of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure to work with and I adored every little detail that went into their winter wedding.
