Winter gets a kind of bad rap from some, but I honestly love the season for engagement photos. It also helps when they’re as fun and as dreamy as Mallory and Riley's ! From their stylish winter outfits, to their fun loving energy, everything about these two was such a joy to document. Making things all the more special was the wonderful setting we found ourselves in, as their engagement session took place in one of my favorite spots near Kenosha, Petrifying Springs Park ! Check out the highlights from their session and what made it such a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Engagement Photos in Petrifying Springs Park of Kenosha
Mallory and Riley are two of the sweetest and most fun humans on the planet. Their energy is legitimately infectious and was SUCH a joy to document throughout their engagement session ! While in Petrifying Springs Park near Kenosha we had the best time with their engagement photos. We took our time wandering through the fresh snow that covered the park, taking in all the beautiful scenery as the two enjoyed every special moment together.
As our session progressed Mallory and Riley both started to loosen up a bit, to the point where they actually were down for a bit of fun in the snow ! We finished the session with the two rolling around together in the snow, having a snowball fight, and making some snow angels. It’s hard to imagine a more fitting end to a winter engagement session !
Choosing Outfits for Engagement Photos in the Winter
Something I’m still obsessing over from Mallory and Riley’s engagement photos at Petrifying Springs Park are the outfits they chose for their winter session. The neutral tones of their outfits are something that I am a HUGE proponent of. They’re great for giving your photos a softer, more romantic feel to them while also allowing you to immerse yourselves more fully into the scenery. The results really do speak for themselves, but there are also a TON of different ways you can take your outfits for your engagement photos, whether you take them in the winter or not ! Check out this article of mine that has some more examples of outfit inspiration for an engagement or couples session.

I had the best time documenting Mallory and Riley’s engagement photos in Petrifying Springs Park this past winter ! Love these two and the magic we created during their session.
